Artist Bio
Belinda Baynes is an Australian artist and designer whose work is deeply influenced by her lifelong passions for art, fashion, horses, the breathtaking Australian landscapes and the multidimensional nature of amazing women.

 

With a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textile Design, Belinda’s career began in the fashion industry, where she worked for leading Australian manufacturers before transitioning to focus on her own creative practice in 2008. Today, she exhibits and sells her work both Australian-wide and Internationally and most recently this year winning first place at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2024.

 

Her art seamlessly blends her love for fashion, nature, and the strength of horses, with vibrant colours, textures, and dynamic compositions. 

 

Horses, florals, and the empowerment of women are central themes in her work, with each piece reflecting her personal journey and identity. Through constant exploration of new techniques, Belinda’s paintings express both the timeless beauty of nature and the boundless possibilities of creativity.

Artist Statement

"My art is a reflection of my passions and my journey—an exploration of strength, beauty, and creativity. Horses, fashion, and the empowerment of women are key themes that I continually weave into my work. My background in fashion design gives many of my pieces an illustrative quality, while my love for nature and the Australian landscape inspires my use of vibrant colours and textures. I see my art not just as a visual experience, but as a story—one that I share with the world to celebrate identity, passion, and the powerful symbolism of horses. The love for all things; fashion, colour, the strength and beauty of the horse, and the incredible beauty, strength, drive and multidimensional nature of amazing women. I am constantly exploring new techniques, finding fresh ways to represent beauty and the endless possibilities of creative expression."
