Opal painting challenge 🙂 So it is no secret that I absolutely love opals. When I was a little girl, we went to Lightning Ridge and my adoration for these amazing gems has stuck. Their complexity of colour is almost unattainable to capture when painting on a flat surface, but I had fun nonetheless, layering many many layers of watercolour. I’m going to try a different technique next time so we’ll see how that turns out! The painting is watercolour with a painted black gouache background on 300gsm Arches Watercolour card. Unframed size is 75cmx55cm. Please note it is sold unframed.
